The first recorded discovery of gold in Wine Harbour was in 1861. Stories tell of women chancing upon the precious metal while picking blueberries. Miners took a Nova Scotia record 42,100 ounces of gold until 1942.
Today, the road leading to the Loring property is still named Eureka Road although no one has panned for gold in the streams for many years.
This Loring property is on the wilderness west side of Wine Harbour while the east side holds a small colony of artists and cottages. The view looks past a few small islands to the open North Atlantic Ocean. The bay is sheltered enough to allow for small boats to move about safely.
Our 90 acre lot has 1500 feet of ocean frontage on the bay. To imagine size, remember that 300 ft is the length of a football field.
Most of the cape is a remote government wildlife sanctuary.
Our property rises gradually from the water up to a height of 50 feet with evergreen trees covering 100% of the lot with a cold stream on the north border.
This 90 acre lot could hold a condo development or a subdivision of 1-8 lots. One existing interior road.
